That's not correct. In SOMe states, possession of alcohol by minors is
permissible with parental consent in certain locations. However, it is
illegal for adults (including the parents) to supply a minor with alcohol.
So, for instance, a minor at a fair could pick up a beer bottle and drink it
and won't get in trouble if his parents have given their consent. But if the
father buys the beer and hands it to his kid, the father could get busted.
And this is only in the states that have exceptions to underage drinking
laws. About half of all states do not allow possession by minors at any
time.
